About the Project
This project consists of four separate residential units connected by a communal link spaces and built over a partial concrete parking structure. Each house will operate independently with individual living, dinning and kitchen facilities and will house approximately 16-18 families, for a total of 65 families for the project.
The building structure consists of pre-fabricated CLT panel walls which are to be erected much like concrete tilt-up construction, and standard plywood on pre-engineered wood I joist floor structures.
Solid panel walls have been favored over standard stick frame construction for their speed of erection as well as their dimensional stability and sound-proofing contribution. Over wood frame construction. The link structures, which carry green roofs, will consist of innovative exposed wood-concrete composite panels. The project is to be LEED Gold certified.
Thanks to the tilt-up approach of the walls, the erection of the structure was two months ahead of schedule.
